Client
A global professional body serving naval architects and maritime professionals through membership, publications, events and specialist services.
The brief
RINA needed a platform that could unify membership management, CRM and website delivery while supporting self-service, better reporting, cleaner data and a more consistent online journey. The timing added real pressure: the membership portal had to be live in time for the upcoming renewal cycle.
The challenge
The existing setup made it harder for members to manage their relationship with RINA and harder for staff to operate efficiently behind the scenes. The project needed to resolve operational complexity while also improving the member experience.
Fragmented member experience across CRM, website and portal
Limited self-service for members and manual staff processes
Data inconsistency and weak reporting visibility across membership, events and finance
A hard renewal-cycle deadline that left little room for disruption
The solution
What was delivered
A renewal-safe launch sequence for members and staff
A phased delivery approach prioritised the member portal so RINA could protect its critical renewal cycle while improving the experience for members and staff.
A single operational view across the membership lifecycle
Guild provided a single source of truth for contact, organisation, subscription and service data, reducing duplication and improving visibility.
A refreshed public site with continuity built in
A large-scale lift-and-shift programme created a cleaner, more consistent experience while preserving structure, content and SEO continuity.
Practical workflows that support day-to-day delivery
From renewals and applications to reporting, support and financial exports, the solution was designed to reduce friction across the organisation.
Delivery timeline
Project mobilisation, CRM and membership configuration, design direction and shared working model established.
Data preparation, test imports, validation and user testing to keep the portal launch on track.
A single source of truth, with membership functionality launched to support the renewal cycle and reduce operational risk.
Giving members self-service access to renewals, payments and account management ahead of the wider website launch.
The wider web experience followed, completing the transition to a more unified digital platform.
The outcome
The end result is more than a replacement system.
RINA gains a more coherent member journey, better visibility across its operations and a platform designed to evolve with the organisation.
A cleaner, more seamless experience with self-service for applications, renewals, payments and member-only content.
Better data quality, more consistent processes and clearer reporting across membership, support, finance and events.
One platform, one source of truth and a more resilient operating model aligned to membership growth and service delivery.
A scalable foundation for more automation, richer reporting and stronger integrations over time.
Client testimonial
“Working with Intergage and Guild has completely transformed how we manage our membership and deliver services to our global community. What was once a fragmented experience is now seamless for both our members and our team.”
— Paul Jobson, CEO at The Royal Institution of Naval Architects
Why this matters
This project shows what happens when the website is no longer treated as a separate front end, and the membership platform is no longer hidden behind it. With Guild, both become part of one joined-up member experience.
Whether you're modernising your membership platform, unifying your CRM and website, or planning a phased migration of your own, we'd love to hear about it. Let's talk through where you are and how we can help.
